Where to Live in San Diego
This map explores all my favorite activities and combines them in order to show me where my dream home might be located. No offense meant to the Steer Clear Regions! To each his own.
Each pixel received a suitability score based on its proximity to the "crucial" factors. Three points for being within a mile of a loctation, two points for being within two miles, and one point for being within five miles. Then, a point was given to pixels in areas with residences (multifamily residential, single family detached, residential under construction, etc.). Anything outside that area was ruled out by giving those pixels a score of negative 100.
The most points a pixel could achieve is thirteen (three for each factor and one for being in a residential area). The maximum score any pixels actually achieved was twelve (the darkest blue color). The steer clear regions only received one point or two points (one of those for just being in a residential area!). Here are the locations used:
Rubio's Restaurants Locations < http://www.rubios.com/locations >
Major Breweries
Daytime Adventures
Nighttime Music
(Update 9/23/2013: Two more music venues that should have been included: The Griffin in Clairemont and Soda Bar in Normal Heights. These additions might make the Clairemont area and the North Park area more suitable. Also, the Cricket Amphitheatre in Chula Vista is now the Sleep Train Amphitheatre.)
